Travis 2 launched recently and I thought I’d document my build to help guide anyone looking at taking the plunge. If you’re wondering what you need to complete the conversion, read on! The Travis 2 Plus is the same as the Travis 2, but also includes rear bulkhead and rear damper tower – we chose to only stock the Travis 2 Plus package because we feel it is excellent value for money. Travis 2 is a conversion kit based around a Yokomo Drift Package so there are many other parts required to finish the build, and I list the main items below.
So what comes in the box?
Here’s some photos showing what is included in the Travis 2 Plus Package box – excluding the stainless steel screws I have used for the build.
You can see in the photos above that the Travis 2 Plus kits include suspension pins, rear prop shaft, a good manual and some reflective stickers along with the parts in the top photo. I’ll mention here again that it includes black steel screws rather than the stainless screws I have used (as I always do with my builds).
Here are some more detailed photos of the assembled kit before I begin to finish the build.
I intend to finish the build using all the new purple parts from WUN, including front lower arms, upper arms, FSG rear arms, GX V4 front knuckles, Overdose HG Version 3 dampers, Acuvance ESC and motor, Futaba CT700 servo and GYD550 gyro.
Other parts required to complete the chassis include:
- Dampers/springs
- Drive shafts
- Rear diff/gears
- Bumper
- Axles
- Servo horn
- Turnbuckles
The Travis 2 is a conversion kit for Yokomo Drift Package, so there are lots of little items you will need like ball ends, turnbuckles etc and probably other items that I am forgetting as I type this in a rush before continuing the build…
I’ll post more when I finish building!
